L8 Thermometer Kit
Incorrect water temperature is a key risk factor for legionella growth. The legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20 to 45°C, particularly if a supply of nutrients is present, such as scale, rust, sludge or algae. A typical method of control is to store cold water below 20°C. Hot water should be stored above 60°C and distributed at above 50°C.

L8 Thermometer Kit (Infra-red):
This thermometer kit can be used to monitor the temperature of both standing water and the surface of pipes and tanks that form part of the water system. The RayTemp 8® infra-red thermometer is compact, gun-shaped, lightweight and easy to use. Simply aim, press the button and display the temperature of the item being measured. The LCD display gives a digital read-out of temperature over the range of -60 to 500°C.
This infra-red thermometer incorporates a clear, easy to read, LCD display with low battery indication. The RayTemp 8® infra-red thermometer incorporates an auto power off facility that turns the instrument off after 60 seconds, maximising battery life. The infra-red thermometer features a laser dot alignment for ease of use.
The RayTemp 8® features a four-button keypad, allowing the user to select °C/°F and max/min. Additionally, the difference between the maximum and minimum temperature and the average temperature can be displayed.
Two instruments in one
The RayTemp 8® infrared thermometer incorporates a miniature thermocouple 'K-type' probe socket that enables the immersion probe (included) to be plugged in and a wide range of 'K-type' thermocouple probes to be used for a variety of temperature measurement applications.
Each Legionella Temperature Kit includes:
- 1x Digital RayTemp 8® thermometer for pipe surface temperatures (interchangeable with other 'K-type' probes for different applications)
- 1x Immersion probe (for taking water temperatures)
- 1x Mini tub of 70 anti-bacterial wipes
- 1x ABS carrying case
